In 2015, we learned about Scarlett who was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma at 4 years old. Her treatment required amputation of her leg. Teaming up with Scarlett Contra El Cancer, our idea was to visualize Scarlett’s struggle in an unsentimental way. We did not want to make grand statements about heroism and bravery, but to show how her struggle to adjust was a journey away from childhood and back to innocence and joy.
